Senior Software Engineer C++/Qt

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve C++ / Qt software for devices and technical systems in industrial and hardware-related environments
  • Design and improve maintainable and scalable software architectures
  • Build user interfaces using QML or Qt Widgets
  • Set up and maintain automated tests (unit and integration) and contribute to a solid testing strategy
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, standards, and metrics
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams (internal and customer-side) in agile environments

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with C++ and Qt (Qt 5 / 6)
  • Experience working on technical systems (e.g. device software, industrial systems, medical technology, consumer electronics)
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and maintainable code
  • Confident working with Linux and common development tools
  • Hands-on experience with testing (unit testing, testable design)
  • A structured, reliable, and collaborative way of working
  • Good communication skills in German and English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with with C# / .NET
  • Experience with advanced testing (integration, system, UI testing e.g. Cypress, Selenium, Squish)
  • Familiarity with code quality tools (e.g. SonarQube, Black Duck)

Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Tester

Your responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the design, setup, and execution of test workflows – from requirements analysis and test design to test execution and evaluation
  • Ensure the quality of complex, long-evolved software projects in industrial and hardware-related environments (e.g. high technology, optics / optoelectronics, medical technology, defence)
  • Work closely with Requirements Engineers and Application Engineers at the interface between functional requirements and testability
  • Develop and maintain automated tests at different levels (unit, integration, system, UI) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure and continuously improve test coverage, code quality, and testing processes
  • Communicate test results, risks, and quality metrics across teams to developers, project managers, and customers
  • Work proactively and independently in interdisciplinary teams within agile environments (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)

What you bring:

  • Experience in software quality assurance, ideally in complex, long-running projects with established codebases
  • The ability and willingness to independently design and implement test processes from the ground up in a structured way
  • A scientific or technical mindset and strong analytical thinking to quickly understand complex systems and technical relationships
  • Strong communication skills and experience in cross-team collaboration – especially at the interface with Requirements Engineering and Application Engineering
  • Openness to interdisciplinary collaboration and the willingness to actively contribute to shaping requirements
  • Reliable and confident teamwork, including technical coordination, reviews, and knowledge sharing
  • An independent and solution-oriented way of working
  • Good communication skills in German and English

Nice to have:

  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (or a comparable certification)
  • Hands-on experience with Ranorex, Cypress, Selenium, Squish, or similar UI test automation tools
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and experience with build and release automation (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker)
  • Basic knowledge of C++ and/or C# / .NET – especially where unit tests are written or reviewed directly in a development context
  • Experience with code quality tools such as SonarQube and their integration into the development process)
